LMNS, pronounced lemons, is a platform that helps marketers land interviews with challenges that replace screening. LMNS was conceived on the back of my own experience job hunting in the US. Coming here as an immigrant, without US experience meant I had to ditch the traditional applicant route (post 200 applications and 0 responses later) and be more crafty with finding jobs. The success of this method - showing your work, landed me a job at Facebook...
But sadly, thats not were the story ends. Once at Facebook, the same candidate that was rejected by 200 companies, had many of them reach out to her with job offers. They didn't want me before, but the stamp of approval from Facebook suddenly meant I was worthy. I believe, I was the same person, with the same talent.
And thats what brings us full circle back to LMNS. Our aim is to change this biased hiring process by giving people like me, without a network, a fair chance at getting a job.
Database migration. I will never forget the day I managed to delete my entire database. Fortunately, we didn't have too much data in it then so I could re-enter it afterwards, but it was like the world had ended. not to mention we all know how much other people care when this happens (they don't). Equally, when I finally read through pages of Flask forums I felt like a Queen when I managed to figure out how it all works. Good thing that if it happens again, I certainly won't remember how to fix it!
